Join us for The 2nd Annual Walk+Run for REX

This race benefits the Southwest SIDS Research Institute. Help the cause by creating a team or registering as anindividual. Your valuable support helps drive the important research they are doing to eradicate SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
There are 3 race distances to choose from because CarreraThon’s GUSTO Push will be held concurrently. Registration fees:
- 5K: Early Bird: $35; September 1: $40; Walk-ins: $45 (cash only)
Children ages 6 - 12: only $15 (includes cotton tee)
- 10 Mile race: Early Bird: $50; September 1: $55; October 25: $60; Walk-ins: $65
- 20 Mile race: Early Bird: $50; September 1: $55; October 25: $60; Walk-ins: $65
Rex’s Walk is included in the 5K race fee.
No charge for Stroller babies. People-friendly dogs are welcome (please bring your own poop scoop supplies).

Create a team of friends, co-workers or family to raise additional money for the Southwest SIDS Research Institute! The top individual and team fundraisers will be announced at the awards ceremony and will receive a prize! Raising funds for the Southwest SIDS Research Institute and walking/running as part of a team is a great way to build camaraderie in the workplace or spend quality time with family and friends. It’s also a great way to join together to raise money for the Southwest SIDS Research Institute.
Every team needs a Team Captain. Then, set a fundraising goal and encourage one another to collect donations (no amount is too small!).

The awards ceremony takes place at 9:30am. The ceremony honors the following:
- Medals for overall first, second and third place male and female runners in the following age categories:
Under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
- Prizes for top fundraising team
- Prize for top fundraising individual

Walk+Run for Rex
The 2nd Annual Walk+Run for Rex will be held in memory of Rex Neal Van de Putte, who was born on November 16, 2012 and died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) on May 7, 2013 at the age of 5 months.
