The Step Up for Epilepsy 5K Fun Run & Walk was created to raise epilepsy awareness and is held in November as part of National Epilepsy Awareness Month. The event takes place at Eisenhower Park with the option of enjoying the beautiful scenic views on a 3.1 mile course. The Step Up for Epilepsy 5K Fun Run & Walk has been designed to fulfill the needs of all participants, with chip timing available to the avid 5K runners, a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk for those wanting a shorter route, and the opportunity to help the cause without missing a wink of sleep!
ABOUT THE COURSE
Runners will enjoy a breathtaking 3.1 mile competitive chip-timed run through San Antonio’s 2nd Natural Park, Eisenhower Park. Runners can be both competitive and non-competitive.
Walkers enjoy a leisurely stroll while taking in the beautiful scenic views of San Antonio! You can choose from the 5K(3.1 miles) route or the shortcut 1 mile route. Strut your stuff & raise awareness! Chip timing not available for walkers.
Sleepers don’t want to get up at the crack of dawn? No worries, there’s a place for you too! Join us as a “Sleep in For A Cause” Virtual Walker. Help the cause without missing a wink of sleep!
WHAT TO EXPECT
A full morning of fun, including competitive runners, families, strollers & dogs. Be there to connect with old friends… meet new ones, enjoy a great pre-walk rally, and cheers at the finish line. Medals will be awarded to the top three male & female 5K runners in each age category. Team prizes will be awarded for the biggest team, the most money raised, & the most team spirit.

The Step Up for Epilepsy 5K Fun Run & Walk participant packet pick up is MANDATORY for all San Antonio Residents!! To ensure a pleasant experience for all. only participants residing outside of the greater San Antonio area will be allowed to pick up their packets on race day, between 7-8AM. The San Antonio residents MUST pickup their packet:
