This is a unique event because of The Meadows Center. This Federally funded wetlands and headwaters does not allow any swimming. The only way to get in this water and swim is during the event. You can not get in to warm up or cool down. That is how serious they are about protecting this area. You can sign up and be one of only 300 swimmers per year at this event.
SWIM: You are swimming in a springs area, you can see the bottom, but don’t touch. NO WALKING ON THE BOTTOM OR SIDES OF THE AREA. You must swim straight down the middle and get out where others are waiting to help you get out. Once out do not go back in the water, remember it is protected.
BIKE: The bike course is a very nice 12 mile out and back course that has rolling hills. It is a good, short ride.
RUN: The 5k run starts at the transition area and goes along the main road and into a hilly, shady neighborhood, you leave that neighborhood and run on hard gravel packed trail for about 1/2 mile until you hit the street and go to the finish. 10k runners will just do this course twice, you will loop around the transition area and go again.
