Event Purpose: |
LATE REGISRATION TILL 4:30 FRIDAY THE 25TH. A FEE OF $25 IS ADDED. NO GUARANTEE ON SHIRTS
The Rotary Club of Greater San Marcos is hosting a triathlon which sponsors EarlyAct First Knight at Travis Elementary School in San Marcos, Texas. The EarlyAct programs are offered 10 minutes each school day. The program was developed since there is a "need for character education" in schools, so an "early innovation" was facilitated to build up our children of tomorrow. This is a "timely opportunity" (quotes from EarlyAct website) of which Rotary is glad to be a part. All proceeds will benefit the Greater San Marcos Rotary Foundation (501c3). |
About This Event: |
The Rotary Club of Greater San Marcos is proud to offer a sprint triathlon at the renowned Springs Lake (formerly Aquarena Springs). "The prestigious Spring Lake is located in a 250-acre preserve. About half of the property is in the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone, and all of the property is part of the Sink Creek watershed." (hillcountryoutdoorguide.com) With such a precious protected lake, the lake is closed to the public to swim in 363 days out of the year. Only two times during the course of a year is the crystal clear lake opened for public swim. The Rotary Club of Greater San Marcos event, Spring Lake Triathlon, is one of those times. It is indeed a privilege to swim in the lake! The Springs Lake TRI has limited slots available. It's important to register NOW to ensure your participation. As a participant, you will receive a registration packet, which includes a t-shirt, promotional materials from sponsors, a free coupon booklet to the famous outlet malls, and you will be able to take part in the post-event food and entertainment. This would be a GREAT time for you to mingle with fellow participants. Additionally, awards will be given to each division. |
