This race is a go!  We have approval from the city and are excited to host this great event.  We will be operating under our COVID rules and will be announcing those soon.  We look forward to seeing you.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic Concerns, the event will adhere to the following guidelines:

We will follow State Guidelines: https://bit.ly/3caXFeE

The race is going to be conducted in as safe a manner as possible.  This means limited crowds before and after the event.  Runners are required to wear a mask before the event and afterwards.  They are not required nor recommended during the run.

The race will be a staggered start with small groups of 2 or 3 runners every 30 seconds until all participants are on the course.

There will be water available on the course, but runners are encouraged to bring a personal water bottle or hydration pack.

Water and refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the race, but there will be no awards ceremony.   Awards will be available onsite as winners are verified.

Please be respectful of other runners and race personnel.  We want everyone to have a great time, but we are under tight restrictions by local authorities to conduct this event.  The success of this event will set precedence for future events.

About

The 10 mile course leads runners through a rather porous section of the Edwards Aquifer. Juniper groves, meadows, ephemeral wetlands, and oak mottes co-exist in Purgatory Creek Greenspace.  More experienced trail runners will enjoy some difficult technical sections of trail during the race while still runnable.

We strive to be a "sustainable" race operation, this means we are a cupless race.  We have water at our water stops but each runner will need to carry a bottle on the course with them.  This is not new for us, lets all up our game and keep trash out of our landfills.

The 5K course is a rigorous course with a medium technical rating and is the perfect introduction into trail running.

Walkers and hikers are encouraged and welcome to participate in the 5K and the 10 mile race.

This race will benefit the San Marcos High School Cross Country Booster Club.  Go Rattlers!

Runners and walkers will receive a t-shirt.  Be advised, the tshirts are unisex sizing.

Registrations taken after 12/28/2020 are not be guaranteed a t-shirt.  ***As of 1/5/21 We have plenty of shirts***

No dogs allowed.   No refunds.
