Angel Drops was formed to promote physical activity using the vision of Dawn Breihan–Hopp whose life touched a community. Through her words, “Exercise daily’” Dawn was divinely-inspired. Dawn was a force within the elementary physical education community. She was a visionary whose ideas and programs touched the lives of San Marcos children and adults over the last 30 years. A long time resident and elementary physical education teacher in San Marcos, Dawn’s goals were to improve our community’s health through programs of fitness in even our youngest members. This years funds will go to sponsoring area elementary youth in Angel Drop's pilot run program called "We Run This School" which is teaching kids proper running form as well as how good it feels to be fit and that they can run the 5ks not just the kid's fun run. The goal is to take it to all elementary schools in San Marcos next year. Let's get our youth running and feeling better about themselves!
The Events
5K Run/Walk and Kids 1K. The 5K will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.; the Kids 1K will start at 9:00 a.m.
The Course
The 5K will be run on rolling city streets with a loop of approximately 1 mile through the historic San Marcos City Cemetary.
The Kids 1K will be run on the new Dawn Breihan Hopp Memorial Fitness Track. The money that built this new track was raised from last year's event!
