Are you and or your team ready for a unique event opportunity for all participants? The "Stampede", a 5K run/walk, kicks off a full days activities associated with "The Western Heritage Weekend" and the Annual San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo, in beautiful downtown San Antonio. You will be in the middle of the action for the yearly Western Heritage Parade, Chuck Wagon Breakfast, great entertainment in the plaza, and the annual Vaquero Cook-Off after the parade. All race proceeds go to the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship Fund. As a participant you/your team will have the opportunity to run/walk through picturesque downtown, covering parts of Houston and Alamo streets as you travel the route of the Western Heritage Parade along with the Hemisfair/Tower area. This run is one of only a few available to runners that actually goes through the middle of downtown San Antonio. Several activities will be taking place prior to and after at the start/finish location at LaVillita (Alamo and Nueva Streets). The Western Heritage Parade also ends at the Stampede start/finish location so you can watch the parade after the run.
