In 1954 Roger Bannister broke the Elusive 4 minute mile barrier stopping the clock at 3:59.4. In doing so he set the sports world on fire. By the end of the 20th century the world record has been lowered to 3:43.13, by Hacham El Guerrouj in 1999. On the Women's side the world record stands at 4:12.56 by Svetlana Masterkova in 1996.Set your world on fire by challenging yourself to run your best mile ever.
