The Northside Education Foundation (NEF) 5K Run/Walk & Family Wellness Fair, presented by CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, is one of the largest, local non-profit 5Ks in San Antonio. In 2015, almost 5,000 participated. On this day, NISD students, staff, hundreds of families, sponsors and vendors will come together to support NEF’s mission of generating more resources for NISD faculty and staff to provide innovative educational programs for almost 105,000 students. After the race, the fun continues with a private lunch and a day at SeaWorld (Aquatica not included). Organizations interested in being a sponsor or Wellness Fair vendor can register here.

7:00 - 7:30 AM - Onsite late registration
7:00 - 11:00 AM - FREE Health and Wellness Fair
8:00 AM - 5K Start Time
9:30 AM - FREE Kids Fun Run  (10 and under) (registration onsite only)
10:00 AM – Awards Ceremony
11:00 AM – SeaWorld Lunch

Entry Fees:

To get your name on your bib, register by April 1. Early registration deadline is April 15.

$25 - Individual ($50 after April 15 and on race day)

$60 - Family and Friends Group (Must be 4 members) ($120 after April 15 and on race day)

$25 - Sleepwalker ($50 after April 15 and on race day)

$35 - SeaWorld lunch and park ticket per registrant (Includes free parking until 8:15 a.m. Aquatica not included. Deadline to order a SeaWorld lunch and park ticket is April 15.)

(Chip timing is an additional $5/per registrant. T-shirts sold separately - Cotton $5, Technical $10. Costs double after April 15 and on race day.)  

Kids Race is FREE for children 10 and under

Important Notes:
  • Because this event is a NEF fundraiser, SeaWorld teacher passes and general season passes will not be accepted as part of registration. Funds raised are awarded to faculty and staff as classroom or department resource, innovation and team grants. 
  • If you register as a Sleepwalker and purchase a SeaWorld lunch and park ticket, you must pick up your ticket at the race no later than 10 a.m.
  • A convenience fee will apply to all registrants who sign up online.
  • No pets and bicycles. Strollers and wagons are allowed.
  • Race route will be available to download at www.nisd.net/nef/5k at a later date.
Packet Pickup:

There are two options for packet pickup: Campus Packet Pickup or Northside Learning Center (NLC) Packet Pickup. Please read carefully to determine which option is best for you.

Campus Packet Pickup:  If you choose this option, your packet will be picked up by an NISD Team Captain and distributed at the campus/site you selected to run for upon registration. Click here to view contact information for NISD Team Captains. Packets will be ready for pickup at your designated campus/site the week of April 25.

Northside Learning Center (NLC) Packet Pickup: If you choose this option, packet pickup will be available from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. on both April 28 and 29 at the Northside Learning Center in Building A located at 6632 Bandera Rd. SATX 78238. NISD Team Captains will receive a different schedule. 

Race Day Parking:

Parking is only free until 8:15 a.m. Due to the high volume of people at this event, early arrival is recommended.

SeaWorld Lunch & Park Ticket:

Deadline to order a SeaWorld lunch and park ticket is April 15. A very limited number of tickets will be available on race day. Advance purchase is highly suggested.

The SeaWorld lunch and park tickets are treated like cash and will not be replaced if lost. All tickets will be distributed on race day at the SeaWorld ticket pickup table. You must present a valid ID and sign for your tickets.

Awards:

5K Run/Walk

1st Place Overall Male and 1st Place Overall Female, plus top three males and females, in the following age groups: 10 and under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-49, 50-65, and 65 Plus.  
 

FREE Kids Run* (10 and under) (Registration onsite only) -

Medals to the 1st place boy and 1st place girl. Participation ribbon/medals to all.
*A parent or guardian must be present to sign the waiver.

NISD Campuses/Departments

Campus and department with the largest team wins the rotating Plaque.

The traveling Spirit Stick will be awarded to the school/site with the most spirit for NEF. Make sure your group gets noticed and you could be the next winne
