The inaugural Big Red and Barbacoa run will be a 5K down the Salado Creek Greenway. Since 1937 Big Red has been a Texas brand and has now partnered with the SA Eagles Athletics Club to hold this original event. All participants will enjoys fresh cold big red and delicious babacoa and much more.
All proceeds will benefit the SA Eagles Athletics Club. SA Eagles Athletics Club is a nonprofit organization designed to expose our youth to the sport of track & field and running in general. The business activity for said organization is as follows: We will encourage, facilitate, and sponsor individuals from an underserved area of San Antonio to receive professional training and athletic development in the areas of running in general, and Track & Field (Athletics). This will be geared towards all ages. Our main focus is the development of proper form and technique in athletics-running, jumping, and throwing- as these are the basis for all sports. It was also designed to have less of a financial burden on parents and athletes. Finally, and most important reason is to have fun.
