It ain't all paved. It ain't all easy. We just want to have some fun and raise some funds for the poor and oppressing in our city and around out world. The 5K night run/walk starts and finishes at Bandara Road CityChurch.
The course is a mix of paved roads and dirt trails that are pitch black in some spots. Flashlights or headlamps are required. The trails are not stroler friendly but there will be childcare available for children 6 weeks old- 5th grade for only $5 per child (payable on race day). The race is chip timed. You get a great looking y-shirt. You also get free snacks and gourmet drinks and smoothis from the Ethos Coffee cafe. Last year's race was won by Kenyans. It was beautiful to see them run. The Beautiful Feet 5K fets it's name from Isaiah 52:7 that says, "How beautifu; on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news..." So run or walk with us and have some Beautiful Feet.
Who Benefits? The Beautiful Feet ministry of CityChurch helps to support and serve the Strong Foundation for the homeless Casa Hogar orphanage in Mexico, Liberia Now in Africa, Children's Emergency Relief INternational, and many more...
Awards: One of a kind dogtag medals and Soer Sports Gift Cards will be given to the top three finishers in each age division. $100 Cash Prize will be given to the top overall make and female (top finisher awarded by gun time).
Team Fitness Competition: For the athlete who believes in "No Pain No Gain" and " The more the merrier", tehre is an optional Team Fitness Competition at no additional cost. 3 personteams will start when each member completes 30 burpees, 60 pushups, 90 air squats. Particioning is permitted. Then each team completes the 5k course together. It ain't over until each team member completes another 30 burpees, 60 pushups, and 90 airsquats. Awards will be given to the top overall male team, female team and mixed team.
Fun Run The Course: Saturday, Nov 23 6:15pm will be a free group run to get to know the course and get to know other runners. meet at the BRCC Video Cafe.
