| Description: | This is a 1-Mile walk/ 5K run benefiting the National Marfan Foundation (NMF). All proceeds generated by this event will provide medical scholarships for families, particularly those with children affected by Marfan syndrome, to attend the 2014 National Conference. Sarah is a previous scholarship recipient and the knowledge gained at the conference has been an invaluable help to her health care management. Strides for Sarah began in 2009 formulating from an unrelenting idea from God in response to a struggle to accept and cope with the fact that our 3-year old has Marfan syndrome. The lack of knowledge and the subsequential search for knowledge was overwhelming until we found the NMF, which assists persons, families, friends and the medical community working with and affected by the syndrome. |
