This race is to raise money for the Appenzeller family, whose wife and mother Kristi died of breast cancer August 15, 2012. The money will be used to pay for outstanding medical expenses incurring during Kristi's final battle with her cancer. There will be a timed 5K and an untimed 1K kids' run. The 5K will be run on the track around Lake Pflugerville, and the 1K will start 1K fron the start/finish line for the 5K. The 5K will have awards for the top male and female runners, then awards for the top two males and females in each category. The kids running the kids' run will receive participation ribbons. All paid applicants will receive a run T-shirt.
