An event celebrating Texas Independence sponsored by the City of Navasota. The great state of Texas was born in 1836 when the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed just 7 miled down the road at Washington-on-the-Brazos, Texas.

Best of all... this is a FREE event!

The Texas Birthday Bash Dash (formerly called the Rattler Run) a 5/10K run wull start at 8am with a route that will take participants through the historic downtown streets of Navasota. Details and information on race registration can be found at navasotatx.gov

At 10am in front of City Hall there will be a ceremony to celebrate the placement of the statue of Frank Hamer. the City Marshal of Navasota in 1908 who later became famous for his role in tracking down the criminal duo Bonnie Parke and Clyde Barrow in 1934 as a Texas Ranger. 

Starting at noon in the Mance Liscomb Park there will be many Texas themed family activities free to all visitors including: pony rides, petting zoo, a western themed street shootout re-enactmentand much more.

The second day of country music will get started at 1:30pm with 5 artisits playing until 11pm and it's all FREE! The stage will bein the are around the Navasota City Hall. There will be an area dedicated for anyone that would like to play washers and dominoes. BBQ and beverages will be availsble through event vendors, so please bring cash since we will not be accepting credit cards.
