About

The event raises scholarship funds for Texas youth by supporting the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ (HLSR) Educational Fund. In 2012, the Rodeo Run surpassed the $3.3 million milestone for the Educational Fund, helping make college dreams a reality for Texas students.

More than 15,000 participants hit the streets for the 25th anniversary Rodeo Run, making it the largest runner base in the event’s history and setting a new fundraising record that generated $400,000 for college scholarships.

The Rodeo Run is known throughout the Southern region for its fun and festive atmosphere, complete with a costume contest and a Texas-sized post-race party. This year, participants will enjoy new 10K race and 5K fun run/walk courses that begin in the heart of downtown and continue along the scenic Allen Parkway. Runners and walkers will experience plenty of Texas hoopla along the racecourse as they lead off the HLSR Parade.
