Please join The Event Company as they host the 2nd annual Diabetes Awareness- Run Because it Matters 5K &10K Run & 5K Walk on November 16, 2013. All proceeds will benefit children with Juvenile Diabetes in Lee, Fayette, Burleson, Washingtom and Milam counties. Proceeds will pay for child with juvenile diabetes to attend Camp SweenyDiabetes.
The start/finish line will be located at Loebau Wagon Stop. Both the 6K and 10K routes will follow scenic CR 117. The event will be hed rain or shine. Water stops will be located at strategic points along the course. Sag vehicles will monitor the course with water and Gatorade, refreshments will be available at the finish line. Refreshments for participants will be provided before, during and after the race. 10K runners will start promptly at 9am. 5k runners and walkers will start shortly thereafter.
The event will be chip timed by Redemption Race Productions. Real-time results will be posted on monitors at the event location. Cash prizes will be awarded to the overall Top 10K Runners, Top 5K runners and Top 5K Walkers. 1st place=$100.00, 2nd place= $50.00 and 3rd place= $25.00. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each age group for the 10K Run, 5K Run and 5K Walk.
