Vern's No Frills 5K is just what is sounds like... a 5K with no frills and a price to match! Free to students K-12 and $1 for adults. Very walker and stroller friendly course and boasts a 16:11 course record.
What will you get? The same course every month that is timed. Water stop on the course and water after the race. Results posted. A NEW course that is three miles on paved trail and 0.1 miles on cinders. No mud/dirt or wood chips! Only 5 turns on the whole course.
The race will be every 3rd Saturday of the month at 8am.
At the end of the year, minus any costs, the money will be given to the Williamson County Parks & Recreation.
The race has been renamed in tribute to Vern Cantwell, a dear friend who had a fatal heart attack while cycling with friends. He was the race's started and was a runner's best cheerleader.
