Awards:

We will post results near the finish line at the pavilion for viewing once they are ready by Athlete Guild. Complete results will be available at AthleteGuild.com. Please do not ask the volunteers at the hospitality tent for results or medals, they will be posted when they are made available to us.

Individual and 1st-2nd Place Team Medals will be packaged in an envelope for each school at the conclusion of each division. High School Coaches can pick up their medals after the last high school race results are posted and Middle School Coaches can pick up their medals after the last middle school race results. We want to verify the results to be sure each athlete is awarded their correct medal for finishing instead of passing them out at the finish line were errors usually occur.

Course:

The course is 2 miles for all girls/middle school divisions and 3 miles for all high school boy divisions. Because of the very dry conditions in Gillespie Country, the course terrain is hard. The majority of the course is run along the natural grounds of the park, but is still very hard with lots of uneven terrain. There are some parts of the course that are concrete/asphalt that the athletes must cross over. Spikes can be worn, but they are not necessary unless rain occurs the morning of the meet.

The starting line will be clearly marked and there will be painted boxes marked on the ground that each school must be in to start the race. All members of the same school must start in the same box. We will try to create a box for each team registered. It is a small, slightly sloped starting area very similar to the State Meet. The first turn is about 150m after the start.

The course is marked with blue and red paint pointing in the direction to travel. There will be low pink boundary flags and some waist high flags in turn/narrow locations where paths run close together. Everyone will follow the red arrowed path from the starting line and back to the finish line area. The high school boys will add three different blue painted looped sections to increase the distance from 2 miles to 3 miles. There will be course monitors spaced out that will help guide the athletes in the right direction along the course. All athletes should follow the painted lines to stay on course. We will try to add a lead or trail cart if the course conditions do not cause lots of dust!
