You are invited to participate in the Patriot 911 5K Fun Run, Walk & Remember on Sunday, September 11, 2016. This Run & Walk event is intended honor Coastal Bend First Responders. This event will also pay tribute to our fallen First Responders who paid the ultimate price for their Country. And let us remember that we would not be free without the bravery of our Men and Women in uniform. Please come out and support this event. This event is sponsored by The Corpus Christi Police Foundation.

 

When:
Sunday, September 11, 2016. Event opens to the public at 6:30am.  Race starts at 7:46am

North Bayfront Splash Park,  1600 N. Shoreline Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78401.  North Bayfront Park is located on Shoreline Blvd next to the American Bank Center.  North Bayfront Park is located at the intersection of Resaca and North Shoreline Blvd.

Details:
This commemoration is sponsored by the Corpus Christi Police Foundation, a not-for-profit whose mission it is to create a safer Corpus Christi by strengthening the bond between the Corpus Christi Police Department and the citizens it serves.  In an effort to include and encourage as many people as possible who wish to participate in honoring our First Responders there will be no entry fee for participation.  Participation is limited to the first 1500 participants who register.  In addition, all registered participant will receive a free commemorative t-shirt courtesy of the event sponsors.  Participants may donate to the Corpus Christi Police Foundation during the registration process.  Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

 

Participant bibs will include the names, rank, department and/or badge number of the first responders who perished on September 11, 2001.
 

Events:
5K Run for Ages 6 and Up - This is intended to be a running event.  Participants will receive a race bib with a timing chip and will be eligible for awards.  If you do not intend to run in the 5K, please sign-up for the 5K Walk.

5K Walk for Ages 4 and Up - This is a family friendly event so families are encouraged to participate together in this Walk.  Children 6 and under must have adult supervision with them on the course.  Participants will receive a race bib but will be be timed for awards. 

Strollers are allowed on the course but should seed themselves at the back of the starting pack. For the safety of all participants, pets are not allowed on the event course.  Exceptions for service animals will be made on a case by case basis.  Please contact the Race Director if you will be participating with a certified service animal.

Awards - 5K Run: (Overall Awards are Gun Time,  Age Group Awards are Chip Time)
5K – Overall Male / Female, Overall Master (40+) Male / Female, Overall Grand Master (60+) Male / Female plus 1st, 2nd, 3rd place Age Group awards.  There are NO Awards for the 5K Walk.

(6 to 9), (10 to 14), (15 to 19), (20 to 24), (25 to 29), (30 to 34), (35 to 39),(40 to 44), (45 to 49), (50 to 54), (55 to 59), (60 to 64), (65 to 69), (70+) 
 

Age Group Awards are based on Chip Time, you do not have to seed yourself at the front!

Voluntary Donation:
During the registration process, you will be asked for a voluntary donation.  Please consider a donation to the Corpus Christi Police Foundation.  The Corpus Christi Police Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Shirts:
Participation in this event is limited so only the first 1500 registrants will receive a free event shirt courtesy of our event sponsors.  Shirts will be distributed at packet pickup.  Shirt sizes are not guaranteed and may not be exact, but we will do our very best to accommodate your requested size.

Race Day Registration:
There will be no registration available at the race site.  You must register online.
 

Please register early since we expect all 1500 available free registrations to be used!

Packet Pickup:
Due to the large number of participants in this event, packet pickup will be held over a four day period.  Here is the most current information on packet pickup.

Wednesday, September 7 - Time and Location to be determined
Thursday, September 8 - Time and Location to be determined
Friday, September 9 -  Time and Location to be determined
Saturday, September 10 - Time and Location to be determined

There will be NO Race Day Packet Pickup on Sunday, September 11.  Please try to attend Packet Pickup on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.  You may send someone to Packet Pickup to obtain your packet.  If you do not pick up your packet, your registration will cancel at the close of Packet Pickup on Saturday.  Packets will not be mailed.

Schedule:
7:30am:  Opening ceremonies honoring First Responders
8:00am:  5K Run & Walk
8:30am:  Post event festivities including food, drink and music for registered participants
9:00am:  Awards Ceremony - (Awards will not be mailed)

Parking:
Free parking is available at Whataburger Field.  Additional free parking is available along the City streets in the area around North Bayfront Park. Paid parking may also be available at lots next to the American Bank Center.

Timing:
Athlete Guild will provide timing for the 5K Run, the 5K Walk will not be timed.  Athlete Guild uses only state-of-the-art equipment.  If you are doing the 5K Run, you will be issued a race bib with a disposable timing chip attached during Packet Pickup.  Athlete Guild is now working with Pendgo Timing in our local community.
