The 12th annual Run for the Bluebonnets will be Saturday, February 24th, 2018. This event began as a fundraiser for our school, but has evolved into a community wide event, promoting health and fitness,  in which over 400 people participated in last year. Even if you’ve never run a 5K before, you can start a training program today, and you can do it! Here’s another super easy training plan for new runners.

Baby joggers, strollers and pets are welcome, but please, no roller blades, bikes or skateboards.

From Hwy 71 East, exit Hasler/Childers/Loop 150. Turn left at the light onto Loop 150. Cross a bridge over the Colorado River as you enter the Historical District of Bastrop. Turn left on Alley A, then left on Farm.

You will be guided to the parking lots on your right as you enter Fisherman’s Park from Farm Street. Once these are full, you may park in open spaces along the streets or in the library lot on Spring St. Please arrive early to allow time to park, pick up your packet and line up at the starting line.
