Get off the couch and join us at the FREE Resolution Run 5K at Gregg Clarke Park -- Starting and Finishing at Ash Pavilion-- then join us at the pool for the City of Kyle's Polar Bear Splash!  You can add on a shirt ($15) and you can add on the Polar Bear Splash with Hoodie ($20) OR Polar Bear Splash no Hoodie ($5) but the race is free to run or walk!

If you do the 5K AND the Polar Bear Splash, you'll receive a special commemorative item for participating in the Official Kyle Duathlon, in addition to the usual cool race swag and Polar Bear Splash swag!

You must register for the 5K and the Polar Bear Splash during the registration process in order to be part of the Kyle Duathlon recognition.  

Polar Bear Splash might be held in a couple of waves depending on participation (we will email out info a few days before the event).  Resolution Run participants will go in a wave, after the run and medals are done (plenty of time to walk over and get your mind ready for the next stage of your duathlon).

 

Notes:

December 10:  You must register for the race and the splash w/hoodie by 11:59 p.m. in order to guarantee your Polar Bear Splash hoodie.  

December 17:  You must register for the race by 11:59 p.m. in order to guarantee your Resolution Run shirt.  If you add on a shirt after the shirt guarantee deadline, please note we can not guarantee your shirt size and your $15 will be considered a generous donation!

December 27: You must register for the splash no hoodie by 11:59 p.m. so we can pack your packet.

If you decide you want to do the splash after Dec 27, you can be a walk up with Kyle PARD at the pool for $10.

DOG and STROLLER are add ons and mean you will have a bib assigned to your dog or your stroller in addition to your own, which means whoever is running with the dog or stroller must register also.  A dog or a stroller must be accompanied by a human!  This is for a bib only.  If you only registered your dog or your stroller, you will not be counted in the age group awards.

Bib Numbers 1-1022 AND 2000-2028  - you are considered EARLY REGISTRATION -- that's the line you'll head to at Packet Pickup on Race Morning 

All other numbers are considered LATE REGISTRATION and that’s where you'll head to at Packet Pickup on Race Morning 

Early Registrants: Dog and Stroller Bibs will be in the packets of the Registered Owner.

POLAR BEAR SPLASH

Immediately following the awards (which will immediately follow the 1K), we will head over to the pool (located inside Gregg Clarke Park). 

  • If you are participating in the Polar Bear Splash and you signed up in advance (by Dec 27), you will have a green wristband in your packet that shows you have paid, and your name is on a list if you ordered a hoodie.  When you've finshed your splash, there will be a place where you can pick up your Duathlon finisher prize! You must do both to get the prize!
  • If you are participating in the PBS and did not sign up by Dec 27, you are a walk up and need to follow the instructions when you arrive inside the pool area.

Once we are at the pool, City of Kyle Parks and Rec will take over!

Directions and Parking

Ash Pavilion is located inside Gregg Clark Park. These are the coordinates - 29.992533, -97.885479

Parking is not available inside the park.  You will want to plan to park on Gregg Rd (Point your GPS to the Post Office at 555 Veterans Dr, Gregg Rd intersects), on the side opposite the park, or on Ranger Dr ( on the side closest to Wallce Middle School), or at Wallace Middle School.

Please do not plan to park inside the park.

Additional Info

Must register by Shirt Guarantee Deadline to guarantee receipt of shirt requested.

Shirt Guarantee Deadline is typically 14 days before race day, maybe earlier due to holidays.

If you add on a shirt after the shirt guarantee deadline, please note we can not guarantee your shirt size and your $15 will be considered a generous donation!

Extra shirts are ordered conservatively so as not to expend funds on shirts that could go to the cause.  If having a shirt is important to you, please register by Shirt Guarantee Deadline.

Races start and finish at the small parking lot at Gregg Clarke Ballfield, off Center Street, address listed at the top of this page.

We are Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold. 

5K is chip timed.

1K will not begin until all 5K participants have returned to the finish line.

Medals are not awarded to 1K participants.  All participants 10 and under receive a finisher token. 

Online Early Registration will close 4 days before race day. 

If you register after early registration closes, you are considered late registration and you can still sign up online!  When you get to packet pickup or race morning, follow the signs for Late Registration.

Late Registration closes 15 minutes before race start time.

We allow late starts up to 10 minutes after start time. If you are later than that and you choose to start, note that you may not have support, coverage, or directional markings, and you will not be timed - with love!

No refunds, but you may transfer your registration to another person.

Packets may be picked up by another person.

All Registration Changes must be handled on race morning with the timing company.

All packets not retrieved by the end of race morning will be donated to Hays Clothing Closet.
