Leader: Candi Huff

Start Date:  September 27, 2014 – 7 AM

Location: On 5600 W at approximately 6800 S. Parking for volunteers in neighborhoods off the course. You may need to walk 15 minutes from the parking spot to the water stop. Please carpool!

Time:  Volunteers must be in place by 7 AM.  The first runner will arrive by 8:30 AM, and final runner is estimated to run by at 9:30 AM.

Road Access:  Road access will be limited prior to, and throughout, the race.  Be sure to arrive early and plan to stay.  Carpool where possible.

Visibility:  Teams are encouraged to wear shirts representing their organizations and bring signs and banners.  Let the runners and the community know who is helping!

Details:  Supplies will be delivered prior to the race, and picked up after the last runner passes by.  The area must be set-up before the runners arrive.

Volunteers must plan to be self-sufficient; in that they should bring anything needed for their own comfort.  This includes coolers for food and drinks, lawn chairs, sunscreen, a radio for music (making the water stop fun), any signage you want to display, and anything else they may want during their time on the course.  The supplies provided will be intended for the runners only.  For some stops, it may be a long morning, so plan accordingly per personal needs and weather considerations.

Once the last runner has passed a water stop on the way back to the finish line, the moving truck will come by to collect all supplies (tables, trash, etc.).  Once the area is clean, volunteers are free to leave.

Finally, children are welcome and encouraged to help, though they must be registered as volunteers and parent(s) must be present.

Be sure to check this page for additional information prior to the race.
