1st annual Night Run through the City of Windcrest
Held in conjunction with the 55th annual Windcrest City Light up Ceremony and Festivities.
This race features a night run thrugh the winding streets of Windcrest which for 55 years has been known as the City of Lights. Be amazed at the hundreds of houses that illuminate their house during the Christmas season with thousands of lights, inflatables, nativity scenes and more.
Runners will be given glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets to be part of the LIGHT UP!!!
Course Marshals will be riding their bikes which will be covered with lights.
the Sag wagon following the last runer will be the Windcrest VFD Fire Engine with a well known Christmas character cheering them on.
The event will be chip timed with disposable chips which will be attached to the bibs.
The youngsters will have their own race called the Candy Cane Dash!!!!
The race benefits several charities that the City of Windcrest will designate.
The 55th annual Light Up Ceremony and Festival will feature a snow play area, outdoor movies, firepit, free photos with Santa and lighting the gigantic tree outside City Hall.
The run will feature a chip start/chip finish so everyone will have an accurate time. On this race, walking is permitted but no stopping will be allowed. A ine-hour time limit is in effect as the Official Light Up takes place at 7:00pm sharp at the City Hall. Sag support will leave at 7:00pm.
The finish line will be across from the City Hall and large crowds will cheer you through the finish line. The official MC for the Light Up will be announcing the age group winners in front of the entire crowd.
