The Friends of Mustang Island State Park Invite you to pick up litter + jog (‘plog’) the Coastal Bend’s unspoiled barrier island and support Mustang Island State Park in the process. There will be a 5K for those looking to really stretch their legs, as well as a family fun 1K for those looking to comb a smaller portion of the beach*. Not only is this the Friends of Mustang's first fundraiser, but it is also the Coastal Bend's first zero-waste event**.
Come have fun at the beach with Friends and enjoy post race lite refreshments provided by HEB and shaved ice for purchase by Kona Ice. This fundraiser will also include prizes, games, educational and interactive booths, and the joy of helping Mustang Island State Park preserve the natural beauty of the barrier island for present and future generations.
