Join TruLight127 Ministries' Virtual Run to eRace Child Abuse, November 6-8th!

We're running to bring awareness to the severe issue of child abuse in this country.

CONFIRMED VICTIMS OF ABUSE & NEGLECT

670,000 Confirmed victims in United States*

77,589 Confirmed victims in Texas**

8,003 Confirmed victims in San Antonio Region 8**

We're running to bring awareness to fostering and adopting because our job at TruLight127 is to find families to foster, we train them in trauma-based care, and they in turn love and care for foster children who have been hurt. They "foster" these children through their hurt.

NOVEMBER: NATIONAL ADOPTION MONTH

November is National Adoption Month. This is a time that TruLight127 and our friends & partners all over the national foster/adopt community try to bring greater awareness to the national foster epidemic and encourage those who have a heart for these children to #DoSomething: #Foster #Adopt #Volunteer #Donate

November 8th, the final day of our race, is Orphan Sunday. Our closing ceremony for the Run to eRace Child Abuse will include a LIVE community prayer over all orphans across the world.

ABOUT TRULIGHT127 MINISTRIES

TruLight127 Ministries is 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which is contracted with and receives funding from the Department of Family and Protective Services for the purpose of locating and licensing foster families and placing children in licensed homes.

Our name is our mission, which is to shine truth and light into the world of hurting children by putting James 1:27 into action.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

- James 1:27

We are here to serve the needs of the underprivileged. We want to stop the flow of children from "aging out" of the system and keep them in a stable home while in the system; preventing them from becoming a statistic of hopelessness.

ABOUT TRULIGHT YOUTH VILLAGE

In addition to the foster/adoption arm of TruLight127, we also run and operate the first emergency foster shelter in Texas' Guadalupe County.

The vision and dream of TruLight’s Youth Village is to address three glaring issues in the foster care industry: Children sleeping in the CPS office due the immediate lack of beds for children removed from abusive situations, lack of homes/resources for children ages ten and older, and lack of support for families who are taking these children in their homes.

The TruLight Youth Village is a place where we can meet children’s immediate needs of an emergency home where they will have their medical, dental, counseling, developmental therapy needs, educational needs and life skills. TruLight127 seeks to be a safe haven for children of all ages. A place full of the love, safety, and resources for youth in immediate need of a safe home and for those needing help as they grow and enter adulthood. Equipping each child with skills that will give them the self-esteem and knowledge that they have a voice and deserve to be heard.

NOT INTERESTED IN A VIRTUAL RUN/WALK?  HOW ABOUT ADOPTING A BED?

Support the costs in the first 24 hours of placement into Foster Care

Here's the scenario for you:

When a child is placed in foster care, they don't have a lot of time to pack and decide on what they're going to take with them. Many times, what they can take is put into a garbage bag. Honestly, the whole process can add to the trauma the child has already experienced by separating them from the only family they've ever known.

We're raising funds to bring awareness to what happens after a child is placed into foster care.

When a child is placed into foster care, $250 is the typical cost that a foster family or an emergency shelter will need to spend in the first 24 hours to make that child feel comfortable and feel safe. Think: Food, pajamas, toothbrush, school clothes, backpack, crib, car seat, and many more extra needs like a lice kit and more.

We're trying to raise $250 to "Adopt-A-Bed" for each child that's placed into foster care. A child needs a place to lay their head at night and feel safe.  TruLight127 Ministries works to ensure that it can place some of these children with their licensed & trained families who care deeply for these children OR they can ensure their safety at their emergency shelter, TruLight Youth Village. A place they can stay until TruLight or the system can find a foster family for them.

We're asking you to donate $5, $25, $100 - Whatever you can give to help us reach our goal! Together, we are adopting one bed = $250. If we meet our goal, we can adopt more beds until the overall goal for TruLight127 is met.

I'm also asking you to share this message to make more people aware of what's being done for these kids and how our community can help.

It's simple, you can text "TRUADOPT" to 71777 to sponsor a Foster Placement
