This is our makeup date for Shelby Winter Wanderland. All participants who were registered for Winter Wanderland are eligible for a free entry into this one. Check your emails for transfer details. Jan's procedure went well and she has been cleared for normal activity. All pathology came back negative so everything has gone a well as we could have hoped after the initial emergency surgery. Fantastic gravel routes deep in the heart of Texas. Staging from the beautiful Harmonie Hall in historic Shelby, TX. Less than 90 minutes drive from both Houston and Austin suburbs, under 2 hours for most around San Antonio. These are fun routes that hold up extremely well even during inclement weather.
Marked route options of 33, 41 and 53 miles with neutral water tables. 70 mile option is considered self navigated where it differs from the 53 miler. 70 mile option will go by stores in addition to the neutral water tables. Registered participants will receive the official routes the week of the event. This includes FREE access to the Ride With GPS navigation app for those who do not have a dedicated navigation device. We always highly recommend GPS backup in case riders miss a course marking for some reason.
Training races are mostly for bragging rights but we will have podiums and prizes for Overall Distance winners by gender and possibly age groups depending on size of field. This is meant to be a fun ride for all so please don't take the racing too seriously. This might be a good one to bring your friends to that are gravel curious.
