Come and get your glow on. Join us as we glow in the dark along the streets of Portland and the path of the private golf course. This night run-walk will take you onto the North Shore Country Club where you will have a view of Corpus Christi Bay during your run or walk. Your participation in our Miles for Meals Glow helps raise needed funds for the Food Bank. Don’t want to go but just want to glow; become a donor only and you can still get the shirt.

6:45pm Kids 1K
7:00pm 5K Run-Walk and 2Mile Walk with walkers seeded behind 5K Runners at the start.

 

Location:  North Shore Country Club, 801 E. Broadway, Portland, TX  78374

 

Ages:
Kids 1K (4 to 10) - Parents wishing to escort their children should stay to the side of the course
5K / 2Mile (6 and Up) - Children 12 and Under should be accompanied by a registered adult

 

Parking:  Free parking is available for the event at the North Shore Country Club and surrounding neighborhood area.

 

Post event food and drink to all registered participants.
 

 

Young Children:  Children ages five (5) and under do not need to register for the 5K or 2Mile event if they are being accompanied by an Adult (18+) registered participant.  Families are encouraged to participate in this event and are welcomed.

 

Strollers / Pets:  Strollers welcomed at the back of the pack.  Well behaved dogs on a leash are allowed but will be placed at the back of the pack.

Packet Pickup:  Friday, October 31, 2014 in Portland at The North Shore Country Club.  Packet Pickup will be from 2pm until 7pm.  Registered participants who are 21 and over receive a complimentary adult beverage during the hours of packet pickup.  
 

Registered participants are invited to "Dine at the Club" on Friday, October 31 from 5pm to 8pm

Glow Items:  Come to Packet Pickup and purchase additional glow items for the event.  Wear your glow gear as you run or walk the 5K or 2 Mile event.  Join us after the event for food, fun and photo opportunities.  Remember that every mile you take helps those less fortunate have food on the table.  This will be a night to remember.

Race Day Packet Pickup:  Available from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the North Shore Country Club in Portland.  Please try to attend packet pickup in Portland on Friday.  Any remaining glow gear will be available for purchase.
 

Awards: (5K)

Overall Male and Female, Overall Masters (40-59) Male / Female and Overall Grand Masters (60+) Male / Female plus 1st / 2nd / 3rd place Age Group awards for BOTH Male and Female.

 

Age Groups: (5K)

(6 to 9), (10 to 14), (15 to 19), (20 to 29), (30 to 39), (40 to 49), (50 to 59), (60 to 69), (70+).

Participants 17 years of age or younger must have parental / legal guardian permission to participate.

 

Awards: (2 Mile)

No awards for the 2 Mile event.

 

Timing:  Electronic chip timing by Pendgo Timing.  You will be issued a disposable timing chip attached to your race bib at packet pickup.  The bib and chip are yours to keep.  You will not be forced to stand in line the evening of the event waiting for your chip.  You will also not be chased down after the event by someone trying to cut-off your chip.  Pendgo Timing uses the most state-of-the-art timing equipment and is a local area company.
