The 10th Annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration features a 5K/10K Run sponsored by Landmark Life Insurance and Brownwood Regional Medical Center. The race route goes through the historic city of Brownwood. Fun and activities all day long with midway\, carnival\, car show\, live music\, artisans\, food vendors and plenty of children'\;s activities just to mention a few. Nightime entertainment includes names such as Kevin Fowler\, Bart Crow Band\, Johnny Cooper and of course - fireworks!

This is an opportunity for you and your family and friends to get a little exercise while having fun!

We listened to your suggestions about our inaugural race last year and have made some changes. This year the race will be an out-and-back 16 mile run with 4 equal legs of 4 miles each for relay teams. We will also have a 5K fun run. All races will start and end at VFW Post 8573 in Canyon Lake. Water stations will be set up every 2 miles (including the relay exchange points) and at the turn around point for the 5K.

About This Event
Both races will be chip timed and will Start and finish at Lake Houston Park visitors cabin. The 10 Miler will run a mostly single track loop through shady pine forest. The surface is sandy loam soil and the course profile is relatively flat. The 5K start at the same time but will turn off the 10 Mile course to complete a smaller loop. There will be 4 fully stocked aid stations with sports drink\, water. All runners will receive a tech shirt and post race party with refreshments\, beer\, music and catered BBQ.

Course Description\:
The Kids'\; Crawl begins at 1009 West Jackson Street and finishes in front of City Hall on Main Street (Bus. Hwy 87). \; The course is approximately 0.5 miles.
The 5K run/walk begins at Jackson Nature Park (on CR 401) and finishes in front of city Hall on Main Street (Bus. Hwy 87)

Each child will receive a participation ribbon in the Kids'\; Crawl. \; The top boy and girl finisher will also receive a medal. \; T-shirts will be given to all participants.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas presents the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Superhero Run. \; Proceeds from this race go directly to CASA of Wise &\; Jack Counties.
Our mission is to serve as an independent voice in court for abused and neglected children removed from their families and placed in foster care by Child Protective Services and help secure a permanent placement in a safe and caring environment.

The Canyon Cross Country team\, along with the New Braunfels Running Club\, is sponsoring a 5K on Saturday\, August 6th\, 2011 in memory of Nolen Vargas. \; Nolen was a member of the Canyon High School Cross Country and Track teams and earned 8 letters in the sports. \; Nolen was tragically taken from us on July 3rd of this year.

Round Rock'\;s 8th Annual 5K for Clay takes place at 8 a.m. Saturday\, Aug. 13\, 2011\, at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center. \; The event honors Clay Madsen and the Clay Madsen Recreation Center which strives to be a safe place where children and adults can learn the leadership and sportsmanship qualities that Clay upheld in his life which was ended by cancer.
